Jr. Canucks NHL Street Festival Brings 250+ Students Together at Langley Events Centre
On June 12, 2026, the Jr. Canucks NHL Street Festival will take over the Langley Events Centre, bringing together energy, movement, and community spirit in a celebration of street hockey and physical literacy. Hosted by Fraser Valley Sport in partnership with Jr. Canucks STREET and Surrey Schools, the event will welcome over 250 Grade 5–7 students from local elementary schools across the Fraser Valley.
The festival is designed to create an inclusive, high-energy environment where kids can experience the joy of hockey in its most accessible form—no skates required. Through fast-paced games, skill stations, and interactive activities, students will have the chance to play, learn, and connect with peers from across the region.
Adding to the excitement, Play Hockey Ball will be on site activating street hockey programming, alongside special guest appearances, music, prizes, and a true festival atmosphere that reflects the Jr. Canucks commitment to growing the game at the grassroots level.
“Events like the Jr. Canucks NHL Street Festival show what’s possible when schools and sport partners come together with a shared goal,” said Tara Cleave. “This is about more than hockey—it’s about confidence, inclusion, and giving kids a positive experience with movement that they’ll remember.”
The festival also highlights the growing collaboration between schools and community sport organizations to expand access to quality physical activity opportunities for students of all backgrounds.
“Street hockey removes so many of the traditional barriers to sport,” added James Daniels. “When you see 250 kids playing, smiling, and supporting each other in one space, it reinforces why these partnerships matter. This is how we grow the game and strengthen our communities at the same time.”
With its focus on fun, participation, and community connection, the Jr. Canucks NHL Street Festival at Langley Events Centre is set to be a standout moment in the 2026 school sport calendar—and another important step in inspiring the next generation of hockey players, fans, and lifelong movers.
